Non-urgent Appointments

All weekday surgeries are run on an appointment system. At the moment we are not open at the weekend and on public holidays. To book an appointment please telephone reception on 01372 452081 between 8:30am to 12.30 and 2 to 6:30pm weekdays. If at all possible it is helpful if you can please try to avoid telephoning for non-urgent appointments before 10:00am because first thing in the morning the lines are extremely busy.

When you have found a doctor you have a good relationship with it is extremely helpful to stick to the same doctor. This helps us get to know you as a person, and is particularly important if you have a complex medical past or serious health problems.

If your regular doctor is away or booked for several days ahead we can offer you an alternative doctor to see. Please remember that our appointment slots are 10 minutes long. If you have lots of issues or complex problems that you know will take longer than 10 minutes please ask for a double appointment. Where several members of the family need to discuss things with the doctor it is usually best to ask for a separate appointment for each.

Urgent Appointments

Even if we do not have a free appointment, if you are unwell we will see you on the same day. Please phone the surgery in the usual way and the receptionist will book you in at the end of the next surgery and you will be seen by the first available doctor.

Please only ask to be seen urgently if you genuinely believe that you are unwell and that you cannot wait for the next available appointment. Longstanding problems, last minute contraceptive pill requests, and minor illnesses such as colds and sore throats are not usually medically urgent and are likely to result in a grumpy doctor.

If you cannot keep an appointment, then please let us know, giving as much notice as you possibly can, so that we can offer your appointment to another patient who needs to see a doctor.
